1.Real Diamond (including Moistness): The tester pen will emita low-frequency beeping sound (1 time/second) and the red lamp box on the level meter will light up (the larger the stone, the more red lamp boxes will light up)
2.Fake Diamond: When testing imitation stones like cubic zircon (CZ), crystal, or glass, there will be no sound and the red lamp will not light up.
3.For Metal: This machine CANNOT be used to test metal. If metal is accidentally tested, the machine will emit a high-frequency beeping sound and the red lamp will not light up.
Pay attention to both the light bar display and sound when interpreting the test results!
Common troubleshooting and solutions
1. Unable to Power On
Make sure the 9 V battery is correctly installed, paying attention to the positive and negative terminals, then turn the knob to power on. If the power indicator light does not come on, it means the power is not connected, and it is recommended to replace the battery. (This device consumes a significant amount of power. A new battery can provide a normal working time of about 1 hour, so please remember to turn off the device promptly when not in use)
2. Beeping Sound Upon Powering On
When the machine emits a beeping sound immediately after being powered on, it indicates that initialization settings are required. Refer to the table on the back of the machine for initialization settings, taking into account the temperature and size of the diamond. Adjust the initial number of illuminated lights by rotating the knob (default setting of 4 lights illuminated at room temperature).
3. What should I do if there is no sound or very weak sound when using the test pen for testing?
First, make sure the battery of the test pen is correctly installed and has sufficient power. Secondly, try cleaning the probe of the test pen, keeping the probe clean can improve the testing effect.
4. Why is there a high-frequency sound when testing metal with the test pen?
Because the working principle of the test pen is based on thermal conductivity to differentiate between diamonds and fake gemstones, the thermal conductivity of metal is close to that of diamonds, so a high-frequency sound will be produced when testing metal.
5.Can the test pen test all types of gemstones?
The test pen is mainly used to differentiate between diamonds and other fake gemstones, it may not be able to effectively test other types of gemstones. It is best to have them tested and confirmed at a professional gemstone identification institution.
